We build digital tools that help teachers create structure, engagement, and strong classroom relationships – without letting technology take over the lesson.
Skolara started with a simple goal: to make it easier to create effective seating charts and student groups. Today, the platform is used by teachers and schools across the country, and we continue to develop new solutions that save time and strengthen the learning environment.
We believe great teaching happens when teachers can focus on their students, not on logistics. That’s why we build intuitive, teacher-centered tools that work in real classrooms.

Skolara was started by two brothers and engineering students at NTNU. After 13 years in the Oslo school system, we saw how much class setup and group dynamics affect well-being and learning.
There were no good, simple tools for this.
So we built one ourselves.
What started as an Excel tool has today become a platform used by teachers across the country. At the same time, the team has grown, and we are now six NTNU students developing Skolara together.
We combine technology and pedagogical understanding to build solutions that actually work in the classroom and make teachers' daily work easier.
First version of automated seating plans built in Excel, based on demand from schools in Oslo.
The "KlasseGenerator" is launched, gets national attention, and is sold to over 100 teachers and schools across Norway.
Feedback from teachers said they wanted a website.
Skolara AS is founded. Over 400 teachers and 13,000 students start using it.
We launched our digital board, an autopilot for the lesson. Teachers can have all their favorite tools in one place.
A lot of exciting new things are coming...
